So for my birthday Anna bought us tickets to see Ottawa play Montreal. I had never been to an NHL game before, and it was quite an experiences. First of all, I paid $4 for a small pop. Four dollars. Two toonies. A six-inch at subway + change. What a joke.
Before the players came out onto the ice there was this huge epilepsy-inducing Senators highlight clip show being projected on the ice - it was really quite painful. Despite all my griping to this point I had an awesome time and would go again. It was an exciting game and watching it in person made me appreciate how fast it is down there.
The game was kind of disappointing in the sense that Ottawa took a tough loss 5-3. Gerber made an amazing save in period 2, but let a couple softies in that took the air out of a third period comeback that looked like it was going to happen.
Oh yeah and Montreal fans. Tons of Montreal fans.
