My father came to Victoria for my Master's graduation. It was the first time I had seen him in about 5 years, so it was quite the trip. He's still pretty much the same guy; most of the time he comes off as a rough-around-the-edges redneck, but every once in a while he'll tell a story or make a comment on something that show's there's more going on. Maybe these stories are just meant to make the listener think that, but I really don't think so.
Here are some pictures
This is me with my dad during the reception after the grad ceremony.

This is my dad with my Uncle Graham. Graham was the only other family able to make it to the ceremony, and a couple days after that he took us up to his home in Duncan. This was taken at a lookout point on the Malahat.

This is my cousin Julia, Graham's daughter. Isn't she adorable?!

This is my other cousin Liam. He's seven years old, but apparently reads and comprehends at some unfathomable level. This Halloween, he told his dad that he wanted to dress up as "a hand". This to me is the first proof that this kid was going to be way smarter than me - no way did I have ideas that good when I was his age.
